When you hear the word "gathering" you may think of a hen and her chicks, but when we talk about gatherings, we're just talking about getting together. We believe that life is better when it's lived together. We have groups where you can make friends and grow, but our gatherings are larger groups of people who get together to laugh, to learn, to worship, and to grow into becoming a life-long follower of Christ. We have just one rule for these gatherings: No Perfect People Allowed.
Going to a new place can be intimidating and scary. How will I know where to park? What if my kid has to go to the bathroom? What do I wear? We've asked those questions too. Please know we will make every effort to make sure your first experience is worry free. At each Sunday gathering we want you to walk into a non-threatening environment where you can receive the authentic love of Christ. If you're 8 or 108, The Well is a place to take steps in your spiritual journey. Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cinema 8 theater we gather together click here for directions. We look forward to hanging out with you and becoming friends. Here's a few things to know:
1. Put your comfortable clothes on
At The Well we believe everyone should come as they are.... so you should do the same. We've got business casual, shorts and sandals wardrobes, those that are fully tattooed. I'm sure you'll fit just fine. We care about you, not your clothes, so wear whatever you want.
2. Park your car
Click on this map link and wholla you know how to get to the Cinema 8 Movie Theatre. Look out for a prime parking spot near the front-left.
3. The Lobby
Once you walk through the front doors, you get to make your first big decision of the day. Do I get coffee and a homemade muffin now or should I bring my children to the kids area? If you are a college student or single, it is a no-brainer. Skip the next step and grab a cup of coffee and a muffin. There will be volunteers ready to serve you and answer any questions you have. Restrooms are available at the left as you walk in. Plan on spending some time before and after the gathering meeting new friends.
4. The Well Kids Area
Take the most important people in the building to the child check in area. Our best volunteers are helping with our little ones so you can focus on having a great experience in the gathering. Their background checks have been cleared and they been trained through a risk management course. Our leaders will give 100% of their care while making it a fun experience to learn about lessons from the Bible.
Well Kids Nursery (birth – 2 years)
Leaving your baby with a stranger can be tough, that is why we have made every effort to make it comfortable and safe. When checking in your baby and bag, you will receive a tag with your name and a number. Please do not lose the tag as it will be the only way to pick up your child. Should we need your assistance, we will place your number on the screen so you can leave gathering.
Well Kids Elementary (Kindergarten – 4th)
This will be best 70 minutes of your kid’s day. They will laugh, sing, dance, and learn with new friends and amazng leaders. Our goal is to help you lead your child to become a life long follower of Christ. Since we only have one hour with them a week, we will often give you tools to help with ideas and get you talking at home. Kids deserve our best and know we believe in them. Caring team leaders will make sure every kid feels welcomed and is connecting to other students.
Well Pre-Teens (5th-6th)
Something we've recently started is a small group setting for those in their Pre-Teen stage. These kids are just old enough in which the environment for our elementary may be a little childish for them so we encourage them to participate in the worship gathering up until a certain point. As soon as worship is over we dismiss them for a environment taylor made just for them.
5. Theatre #2
Bring your coffee in, grab a worship guide, and watch our video announcements for upcoming events. Sit wherever you feel comfortable and don’t worry about anyone making you stand up and say your name. You will be able to hide in the crowd with no worries.
6. Worship
We have worked hard to provide you with an experience where you can connect with God. At 10:30, the band plays a relevant style of music that you will enjoy. Their passion for God is contagious. Words will be on the screen for you to follow. You may see some people expressing their love for God by closing their eyes, sitting, clapping, and even raising their hands. Several people from our church come from a very traditional church, but enjoy this relevant style of worship.
7. Teaching
The teaching is delivered by a team of communicators. The majority of time Ricky Van Pay, our Lead Pastor, will be speaking. He has a style that is relational and to the point. He is passionate about how the Bible leads us into truth and helps us with every day living. We will use video, music, or other creative methods to make learning interesting for you.
8. Closing
We will always be done by 11:40 so you can beat the lunch rush at Chili's.
